OD Pro Meeting - Mindful Leadership PDF Print E-mail

OD Professionals welcomes you to attend our first event for 2010!

Peter Canny, Practice Leader at the Centre for Organisation Development, will facilitate an engaging and thought provoking session on the emerging field of Mindful Leadership.

Whilst most leaders can work out what to ‘do’ and what is expected of them in their roles. Mindful Leadership explores the ‘being’ of leadership. The question which affords the most leverage is how to ‘be’?  What state of mind do you hold in any particular moment to be able to respond to the complex and emergent situations that arise though the course of your everyday work? Mindful Leadership refers to cultivating a state of personal awareness which enables and empowers you in your leadership practice.

Experience and observation suggest that there are profound connections between personal mastery and effectiveness in leadership roles. In this session Peter will present ideas and practices designed to promote an engaging, reflective and insightful start to your year.

This session focuses on:

  1. Developing an effective mindset. Understanding how your state of mind influences the people and the world around you
  2. Developing peripheral awareness which allows you to synchronise with the situations and people you work with
  3. Working in a state of Presence. Cultivating a state of connection with self, people and place
